  1. Rule of Thirds is a term beginning photographers learn. The rule of thirds is when you divide an image into thirds both horizontally and vertically and the subject is places near or in the intersections of the lines.

Depth of Field- the distance from the closest and farthest thing in the field of the image that appears sharp in the image.

  2. You would use depth of field to make something more dominant in a image especially when there are a lot of other things in the field.

  3. Rule of Thirds - 2 imaginary horizontal lines and 2 imaginary vertical lines that divide a frame into 9 equal sections. This is important because the placement of characters or objects in the frame can give a viewer visual clues as to the overall tone or emotion of a scene. The movie "Horton Hears A Who" uses the Rule of Thirds in many different ways. http://virgiliovasconcelos.com/index.php?sessao=blog&language=en&id=93

Dynamic Composition - when a frame contains many diagonal lines. While horizontal and vertical lines usually express peace or calm, diagonal lines are busier and less comfortable. The dynamic composition of the following picture is fitting considering the objects in it...http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tutorials/photoshop/ashandsam/header.jpg

  4. The rule of thirds is when a picture is divide into 9 equal squares -like a tic-tac-toe grid- with two equally spaced line vertically and two equally space lines horizontally. Then the subject of the picture is lined up with the intersecting lines to create more tension and emotion.

Depth of field is the distance between the nears and farthest subject in an image and the sharpness varies for the farthest. It can be use to draw an audience into a certain subject or message or to dramatize the existence of the other subject in comparison.

  5. Rule of thirds- a baisc technique used to develop a shot in which a shot is broken down into a 3x3 cube and the main focal elements lie on those lines

Dynamic composition- a shot with extreme contrast between elements

Goals of camera movement- to keep the audience interested in what is happening. Camera movement keeps the viewers eyes moving and keeps the action going.

Depth of field- depth of field is the distance between the closest and farthest images in the shot that are still clear. A shorter depth of field allows the viewer to have a close up of some image. A longer depth of field allows you to set a scene by showing a wider scope of the image.

  6. Rule of thirds is simply when you divide the photo into thirds both vertically and horizontally.

depth of field is the distance between the farthest and closest object in the photo.

  7. Dynamic composition refers to techniques used by videographers to ensure their work contains images which are appropriate to the artist's vision. While static composition refers to fixed images, dynamic composition takes into account the effects of time, such as scene transitions and scene sequence.

Examples of both dynamic and static composition can be found at the link below.

The rule of thirds is a technique used by designers and photographers in order to ensure that their images capture the viewers' attention. In using the rule of thirds, the photographer divides the image into nine equal parts by using two equally spaced horizontal lines and vertical lines. This is a common technique taught to beginning photographers.

  8. Rule of third is a technique used by photographers in which a frame is split into 9 equal squares. This allows emphasis on certain parts of the picture and can create a different tone based on what lies in each square.

Depth of field is distance between the furthest and nearest objects that can be seen in the picture. This is used a lot in outdoor shots to emphasize the importance of certain settings.

  9. The rule of thirds is a compositional rule of thumb in visual arts such as painting, photography and design.[1] The rule states that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections.
    Example- http://www.digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds

Depth of field is the distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera. You would use depth of field to enhance the image composition in a photo.

  11. Depth of Field is the distance away something is when it comes into focus. The effect is used in making 3-D and other movies. It is used to focus the viewers attention on a specific thing.

Rule of thirds is the division of a picture(video)into nine sections(like a tic-tac-toe board). The image to focus on should be at the intersection of these imaginary lines.
