  1. I found each tip in this article to be very helpful. The tip on writing every day, however, seemed to be most beneficial. As a journalist, your job is basically, to write, and the more you write, the more you practice. The more you practice, the more you are able to find your flaws and correct them. you can perhaps develop better writing techniques as well. No matter how long you have been writing, there is always something you can learn about the skill and another way you can develop it. the only way you'll have time to do this is if you write...every day.

  2. In my personal opinion, tip number 1, write everyday, would be the most helpful. While all of them had good advice and tips, writing constantly would provide you with adequate writing skills and preparation. Practice makes perfect, right? And even though print is becoming insignificant to the internet and online media, the basis of journalism is still the written word.

  3. All the tips have great points to them and can help every student succeed not only in their journalism course but also in their future careers. For me, tip #6 seems to be the most helpful/useful because I sometimes have difficulty in telling good stories without getting off track or boring my reader. By watching more films (because I don’t watch enough), I could further my story telling and be able to explain them visually.

  4. 9. Go to lots of events. I find myself not doing this. Anytime concerts, parties, conferences, or news worthy events are within the distances I am willing to travel, I do not attend. For example, I had a magnificent chance to see the Fray at UAFS but I did not attend. This past week, I could have gone to the fair and attend the Band Perry, Hinder, and others appearences but I did not go because I simply, "didn't feel like it." If I start going to more events I can make more of my life and be part of the local buzz.

  5. #1-- "No-one ever gets talker's block". For me, personally, that is not a problem. However, writing seems to be difficult at times because i tend to run out of information quickly and do not portray what i'm attempting to write correctly for the papers format. All of the tips were useful because they can be done everyday. By blogging often, writing everyday, reading a book vs. watching tv, and partaking in local/nonlocal events can all improve our own personal writing style.

  6. The most helpful tip for me is number 3: learn new platforms. The media links listed are one's that I havent even heard of. In order to stay in the journalism competition you need to know your competition and specifically stay ahead of the competition.

  7. The best tip in this article is to get motivated. It seems like we are always looking for a short cut or easy way out as college students. We ask questions like is that course easy, and is there a lot of work. But the truth is it should be challenging and we should want to work hard and spend time learning the art of this craft.Adam says to make our own online publication, just for fun...imagine that. Its like completing a tedious homework assignment for no grade or payment, genius. Let's work hard and spend less time partying and more time becoming the ambitious college students of the new new media future.

  8. I personally think that the best tip from this particular website would have to be to write every day. If someone truly loves to write and wants to make it their craft then writing every day is a must. Writing every day allows one to stay fresh and actually improve. Writing to me is like most things, with enough practice good writing skills are obtainable.

  9. I think the most helpful tip was to teach YOURSELF web skills. Like he states, the codes and everything else are very intimidating. I feel like i get a little overwhelmed with web design. Its important to know these things because it helps you in the future when you want to make your own website or trying to figure out others. He also says to teach yourself and not pay to learn, so it must not be that bad.

  10. I also think that the most important tip is to teach yourself web skills. As much as I don't want to admit it, newspapers and physical magazines are losing popularity, the future of journalism and news is going toward online media. In order to be ahead in this new market, we will need to be able to code and publish websites.

  11. I personally believe number 5 is the most important in this list. I have always believed that reading is important. Television is not interactive, and most of it is junk. reading a book engages your mind, expands your vocabulary and knowledge. Your grammar vocabulary and writing will improve making your work more proffesional.

  12. I think the most helpful tip, was number 10. It may be because I am a fan of the "D.I.Y punk scene" but either way, it is a great idea to understand the workings of the field you are wanting to get in. If I were interviewing someone and saw that they had started their own publication, without hope of there being any profit, I would be beyond impressed with the passion said person had, and would hire them immediately.
